Zinc
ZINC is a centre for digital art and culture founded in 1998 at the Friche Belle de Mai in Marseille. Its multi-disciplinary, field-trained team is supported by numerous partners (artists, cultural producers, associations, teachers...) and organises approximately 100 activities and projects every year, for every type of audience.
Production.
ZINC supports artists and disseminates their work, encouraging art forms that use digital technologies.
ZINC also organises events at the Friche Belle de Mai, in Marseille, as well as in the Sud region: festivals, shows, screenings, public meetings.
Digital outreach.
ZINC is also a MEDIALAB and a FABLAB open to anyone wishing to practice, be introduced to or learn more about technology: from creative software to electronics, from the internet to 3D printing and virtual reality.
These creative workshops explore the uses of digital technologies, personal digital construction, and collective innovations for collaboration.
Training.
ZINC offers training, engineering, expertise, and conferences for professionals in the fields of culture and social work, so that everyone can understand the world in digital mode.
